Samuel Biggs
The deaths of Samuel Biggs and his wife are commemorated by a memorial tablet on the west wall of St Mary's Chancel, Chitterne. It says:
In Memory of Ann, the wife of Samuel Biggs, who departed this life December 10th, 1789, aged 53 years. Also in memory of Samuel Biggs who departed this Life May the 3rd 1791, aged 59 years.Their descendants, the Yeatman-Biggs, still live a few miles away in Stockton.
